In this aspect, an auto parts store is much for customer service driven since parts are generally stored in a stock area and the customer must communicate their need to the employee. Using a special computer program, the store and workers can effectively communicate with the customers to find the right part that the customer needs. ![]() Workers are constantly answering phones taking orders and putting items on hold. Most of the sales that happen at an auto parts store begin as phone sales. The order sheet is the communication from driver to the store, then from the store to the employees who put up the items delivered. Each day starts when a truck driver drops of pallets with an order sheet. In an auto parts store, the work is usually a little more independent, but still requires a team to work effectively. A good grocery store should be an easy, hassle-free trip for a customer. In the instance of a grocery store, little communication with customers generally means that your store is neat, well-organized, well-stocked and easy to follow. ![]() The cashier would then communicate with the customer through a receipt. If the lines at the register were backed up, the cashier would have to use the intercom to call for a bag boy. Cashiers always dealt with the most with customers. With the managers constantly writing and pulling tickets for items that need to go out onto the floor, stocking is a continuous task at hand as inventory at a grocery store moves quickly and stock must be rotated to stay fresh. Stockers work constantly to replenish goods on the shelves and in coolers, often checking in the back for something when a customer personally asks them to do so. The type of communication used in each work place setting varies greatly from one place to the next depending on the type of products they sell and the amount of hands-on customer service needed.Īt a grocery store, each person had their own job title. These people have to communicate effectively to get their jobs done and keep their customers happy. Most work place communities deal with managers, different types of workers at all different levels, and customers. Communication types can range from intercom talk, person to person interactions, or digital communications. In any work community there are many types of communication among many different people.
